OHS Performance, Review, and Objectives Policy

1. Policy Statement

Guidance: This policy formalizes the "Plan-Do-Check-Act" cycle, which is the foundation of modern OHS management systems like ISO 45001. It commits the organization to a structured process of review and improvement.

[Company Name] is committed to the continual improvement of our OHS performance. We will achieve this by setting meaningful OHS objectives, regularly monitoring our performance against them, and conducting systematic management reviews to ensure the ongoing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness of our OHS Management System.

2. Our Commitments

• Setting Objectives: To establish specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) OHS objectives that are consistent with our OHS Policy and informed by our risk profile.
• Performance Monitoring: To regularly measure, monitor, and analyze our OHS performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as incident rates and audit findings.
• Management Review: To have top management conduct formal reviews of the OHS system at planned intervals (at least annually) to assess its performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Continual Improvement: To use the outputs of performance monitoring and management reviews to take corrective and preventive actions that enhance OHS performance.
• Resource Allocation: To provide the necessary resources to achieve our OHS objectives and to support the performance review process.

3. Roles & Responsibilities

• Top Management: Is responsible for leading the management review process, approving OHS objectives, and ensuring that findings and actions are addressed.
• OHS Manager: Is responsible for compiling performance data, preparing management review reports, and tracking the implementation of OHS objectives and corrective actions.
• Line Managers: Are responsible for driving the achievement of OHS objectives within their departments and for providing performance data as required.
• All Employees: Are encouraged to contribute to the achievement of OHS objectives and to participate in the performance review process through their H&S Representatives.

4. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed at least every two years.
