This standard provides the operational framework for the OHS Training & Competency Policy. It details the procedures for identifying training needs, planning and delivering training, assessing competency, and maintaining records.
Guidance: A TNA is a systematic way to determine who needs to be trained and on what topics.
Line managers, in consultation with the OHS Manager, will conduct a TNA for their departments annually. The TNA will consider job roles, risk assessments, legal requirements, and past incident data. The results will be used to create a company-wide Training Matrix.
Competency will be assessed using methods appropriate to the training. This may include written tests, practical demonstrations of skill, or on-the-job observation by a supervisor. For legally required appointments, proof of accredited external certification is required.
The OHS/HR department will maintain a Training & Competency Log for all employees. This log will include the training topic, date, provider, and expiry date (if applicable). Certificates of completion will be kept on the employee's file.
To provide accessible, intelligent, and comprehensive OHS solutions that empower businesses and communities to create safer environments for everyone, everywhere.
